Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies Recognized as a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace

Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies is proud to announce that we have been recognized as a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).

This designation recognizes organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting breastfeeding employees through workplace policies, education, and accommodations that help families thrive. Employers earning this recognition have established lactation support programs that provide adequate break time, access to clean and private pumping spaces, and a workplace culture that values the health and well-being of parents and babies.

As Minnesota’s nonprofit milk bank, we understand the critical role human milk plays in infant health and development. Breastfeeding and human milk feeding provide babies with optimal nutrition during some of the most important stages of growth. We are honored to be recognized for creating a workplace environment that supports employees as they navigate the breastfeeding journey while balancing their professional responsibilities.

The Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace designation acknowledges organizations that serve as community leaders in promoting family health. By fostering a supportive environment for breastfeeding employees, workplaces can help improve health outcomes for both parents and babies while also benefiting employee wellness, satisfaction, and retention.

This recognition program was created by the Minnesota Department of Health and is supported by Minnesota’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP).
